Frequently Asked Questions
Ultrasound Types
What is a 2D ultrasound?
This is what most people think of when they picture an ultrasound. It is a two dimensional, black and white image that shows the baby's skeletal structure and organs. 2D ultrasounds are used by our technicians to determine the gender of your baby and record baby's heartbeat.
What is a 3D ultrasound?
3D ultrasounds use cross sectional soundwaves to produce an image of your baby's face. These allow you to see baby's facial features in 3D and not just a profile view as in 2D ultrasounds.
What is a 4D ultrasound?
4D ultrasounds are 3D ultrasounds captured in rapid succession in order to create a video. These precious moments will become your first home video with baby!
What is a 4D Realistic Vue ™ and 5D ultrasound?
Sometimes called 5D, HD, or HD Live for other ultrasound brands. 4D Realistic Vue ™ ultrasounds is Samsung's proprietary technology that enhances 3D ultrasounds and displays them higher definition and fidelity. The images captured are sharper and look almost photo relistic. Now you will finally know if baby has daddy's nose!
What is 8K image enhancement?
8K ultrasound image enhancement is sometimes called 8K ultrasound. It is a post processing service that is applied to your 3D/4D ultrasound face shots of baby. It typically takes 3-5 business days to upscale a 3D image into 8K resolution and apply a photo realistic finish to make your baby's ultrasound look like a life-like photo! You can add 8K image processing to any 4D/5D package.
